Jinx is a male Phidippus otiosus around I9 with striking dark coloring and a hint of orange that’s sure to pop even more after his next molt. He’s got that signature built-in glitter shimmer that makes him stand out from the crowd.
He can be a little jumpy at first, but once he realizes he’s safe, he calms right down. Jinx is curious, bold, and just the right mix of sparkle and sweetness. 🧡🕷️
All jumping spiders need a home with cross-ventilation — this is absolutely essential for their health. The medium 3x5.75 enclosure is the ideal size for otiosus since they are a smaller species; I don’t recommend anything larger. Bigger setups can make it harder for them to find food, and many stop eating when their space is too open.
Avoid glass enclosures — they don’t provide the airflow your spider needs. Proper cross-ventilation is key to keeping your spider happy and healthy. 💨
