Atreyu is a male Phidippus otiosus with the sweetest personality and the glitteriest little face you’ve ever seen. He’s calm, docile, and super easy to handle — truly a great beginner spider for anyone new to jumping spiders.
He’s already showing beautiful orange tones that may brighten even more after his next molt. Cute, observant, and endlessly charming, Atreyu is one of those spiders that instantly wins you over. ✨
All jumping spiders need a home with cross-ventilation — this is absolutely essential for their health. The medium 3x5.75 enclosure is the ideal size for otiosus since they are a smaller species; I don’t recommend anything larger. Bigger setups can make it harder for them to find food, and many stop eating when their space is too open.
Avoid glass enclosures — they don’t provide the airflow your spider needs. Proper cross-ventilation is key to keeping your spider happy and healthy. 💨
