Meet Michele ✨
Michele is a female Phidippus apalachicola sub-adult with about two or three molts left before she’s full grown. Right now, her chelicerae shimmer with a beautiful gold tone that will likely shift to a rich purple once she reaches adulthood — it’ll be so fun to watch her colors evolve.
She’s super sweet and very easy to handle once she builds trust. Calm, gentle, and absolutely lovely, Michele is golden charm in spider form. 💜
All jumping spiders need a home with cross-ventilation — this is absolutely essential for their health. The 5x8 enclosure is the ideal size; I don’t recommend anything larger. Bigger setups can make it harder for them to find food, and many stop eating when their space is too open.
Avoid glass enclosures — they don’t provide the airflow your spider needs. The medium (3x5.75) home is too small!! Proper cross-ventilation is key to keeping your spider happy and healthy. 💨
