Meet Rowan 🍁
Rowan is a sub-adult female Phidippus adumbratus and one of the easiest, most handleable spiders you could ask for. She’s super calm, not jumpy at all, and would be perfect for anyone who’s new to jumping spiders or feeling a little nervous about their first one.
She also loves her uppies, making playtime with her extra fun. Rowan’s gentle personality and sweet nature make her an absolute favorite for beginners and seasoned keepers alike. 💛
All jumping spiders need a home with cross-ventilation — this is absolutely essential for their health. The medium 3x5.75 enclosure is the ideal size for otiosus since they are a smaller species; I don’t recommend anything larger. Bigger setups can make it harder for them to find food, and many stop eating when their space is too open.
Avoid glass enclosures — they don’t provide the airflow your spider needs.  Proper cross-ventilation is key to keeping your spider happy and healthy. 💨
